Reeshad Dalal, Seth Kaplan, and I-O PhD students conducted research on adaptive interventions for emotion regulation based on an NSF-funded grant.

Psychology professor Todd Kashdan is noted in a Harvard Business Review article for the development of the skillset known as psychological flexibility, which is described as turning difficult emotions into greater focus and dedication.

In recent rankings of graduate programs in U.S. News & World Reports, Mason's Industrial-Organizational Psychology program and Department of Criminology, Law and Society received top-ten recognition, while other CHSS programs were in the top 100.

Mason's Commencement will be in-person on Friday, May 20, at 10:00 am. The college's Degree Celebration for the Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies, including the School of Integrative Studies, takes place May 20 at 2:00 pm; the Degree Celebration for the Social Sciences takes place May 20 at 6:00 pm.

As George Mason University recognizes 50 years as an independent university, the College of Humanities reflects on how it has been an important part of Mason from the very start.

CHSS fall 2021 graduates will have two options for in-person Winter Graduation celebrations: attend a Patriot Procession event on December 14-15, or a formal Graduation Ceremony on December 16.

“Employees who utilize policies that enable them to spend more time away from work – such as parental leave and remote work – often worry that they will be perceived as less devoted to their job,” [Dr. Lauren Kuykendall] says. “When offering these policies, organizations must also create a climate in which employees are not fearful of their utilization.”

The researchers included several people from George Mason University (GMU) who teamed up with Dartmouth and HP, and received funding from the Swedish and Dutch governments, says Dr. Daniel Shore, chief research officer at Leadership & Effective Teamwork Strategies (LETS), who worked on the study while he was at GMU.
