Virginia Cheng is currently in her third year as a doctoral student in the Industrial-Organizational Program at George Mason University, where she is mentored by Dr. Philseok Lee. Before joining George Mason, Virginia obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) in May 2022. During her time at UMD, Virginia collaborated with Dr. Paul Hanges on utilizing natural language processing for evaluating military leadership.
Under the guidance of Dr. Lee, Virginia's research focuses on the advancement of personnel assessments and the integration of machine learning techniques into practical settings. Her primary interest lies in promoting fit within workplace environments, striving to implement best practices in this regard.
In addition to research, Virginia is passionate about teaching. She enjoys her roles as a Teaching Assistant for Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology and as an Instructor for Introduction of Industrial-Organizational Psychology.
